ABOUT THE COOMERA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
In the begining...
The Coomera Chamber of Commerce was formed in 1994. The formation of the chamber was primarily because there were local Coomera issues which needed the attention of the business community. The long term vision for Coomera, its town centre and expansive development were seeds only and needed to be carefully watered. The Chamber was to take a lead in ensuring the vision and planning was for sustainable long term development and not erratic and uncontrolled.
Firstly led by John Lang and then Brian Rowe, a strong foundation was laid from which the Chamber has steadily grown to 100 members and continues to climb each month.
The Members of Coomera Chamber of Commerce are excited about coming together each month to network, socialize and be informed of current issues in Government, Local Community through to Business and Health and Well Being.
The Meetings are usually held on the last Thursday of the month and occur in the form of either breakfast meetings, 7a.m.-8.30a.m., where members are served a hearty breakfast in a bright, welcoming environment, twilight meetings 5.30p.m.-8.00p.m. at a venue where there is room to move and socialize while enjoying great finger food and drinks and half day functions e.g. cruising the Broadwater on a luxury yacht. The Christmas luncheon in 2004 was funfilled coupled with information on the Gold Coast as a whole from The Mayor and Deputy Mayor.
Costs are kept to a minimum but offering quality and benefits. We have members waiting to welcome you and introduce you to others, helping to alleviate the daunting feeling of entering a large, new group. Coomera Chamber of Commerce wants you to feel welcomed and relaxed and leave well informed and excited about being involved in the Community, because Coomera's vision for the future is indeed exciting.
The Area is flourishing with facilities such as the amazing Marine Precinct and waterways affording employment, restaurants, boating and fishing. The entertainment centre of the Gold coast including Dreamworld, Movie World, Wet and Wild. Vast choice of Schools and Colleges, Playgrounds, The Hinterland, incredible residential areas and the list continues to grow with a proposed Coomera Town Centre three times the size of Pacific Fair, Bowling Alley, Picture Theatre, Tafe etc.
Coomera's vision is to cater for everyone from the start to the end of the day...to meet the needs of all age groups for a life time.
Coomera will be the largest CBD in Queensland outside of Brisbane...the 'Centre of The Corridor'
The Coomera Chamber of Commerce and Industry has the potential to become the largest and most influential Chamber on the coast and I believe we must plan for that.
Our vision inside of 3 years is to have an office and full time secretary. This office would be the hub of business enquiry, support, information and training opportunities. It would be a functional resource and of tremendous assistance to all our members.
We invite you to come along to a meeting and feel the excitement and fellowship for yourself. For more details please do not hesitate to contact us.
We look forward to meeting you.
